Dr. Vonda Hammons Boone is a tenured Associate Professor of Nursing at the Kitty DeGree School of Nursing at the University of Louisiana Monroe, where she provides innovation leadership within the BSN program. She leads Nursing Management and teaches Computing for Nurses, integrating artificial intelligence, informatics, and emerging technologies into undergraduate nursing education.
Dr. Boone earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Educational Leadership from Post University, focusing her doctoral work on reducing nursing faculty burnout through evidence-based interventions. She also holds an MSN in Nursing Education from Excelsior College.
She has completed advanced preparation in artificial intelligence, including Auburn University’s Teaching with Artificial Intelligence Certificate and advanced AI coursework for nursing professionals. Dr. Boone has been dedicated to help guide ethical and responsible AI integration across the curriculum, preparing graduates to lead in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment through innovation, critical thinking, and professional excellence.
