Biographical Sketch

I am a dedicated women's health nurse with over 18 years of experience in the field. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in various hospitals across Louisiana and Texas, gaining a diverse range of nursing experience. My expertise encompasses the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care areas for women, allowing me to support them through critical moments in their lives. In addition, I have valuable experience in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the newborn nursery, which further enhances my ability to provide a comprehensive education to students enrolled in my course. 

Teaching and mentorship have always been integral to my professional journey. Serving as an educator and preceptor in each of my roles, I am passionate about training and inspiring the next generation of nurses. There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing the miracle of life through the eyes of those who are just beginning their journey in healthcare. I find great fulfillment in sharing my knowledge and experiences, ensuring that upcoming nurses are well-prepared to make a positive impact in our field.

Research Interests

I'm passionate about exploring the impact of negative nurse responses on nursing students during clinical experiences. I want to uncover how these adverse interactions can hinder the students' growth and learning. Additionally, I'm interested in conducting research that highlights the positive contributions nursing students can have on patient experiences. Their ability to offer attentive care and invest extra time with patients can lead to improved outcomes and more meaningful interactions. Through this research, I aim to advocate for a supportive clinical environment that fosters both student development and enhanced patient care.
