Dr. Jason P. Austin is currently an assistant professor in the marriage and family therapy programs. Dr. Austin is passionate about mentoring budding scholars in their own clinical and research interests. As a faculty member of a graduate program, Dr. Austin believes a doctorate degree is a research degree and works with students to foster their own research agenda as well as train them in appropriate research methodologies to succeed in their careers.
Dr. Austin adopts a pragmatic paradigm towards research and emphasizes the use of mixed methods frameworks to explore and examine phenomena. Currently, Dr. Austin's research agenda focuses on Relational Health Literacy, Burnout in the Mental Health Profession, and Marriage and Family Therapy Education.
